There are summer people, and there are those who prefer the rainy season. I can't decide what I season I like better. I enjoy walking in the rain, but there's something about the summer heat that does wonders to me.
Summer brings back the fondest memories of my childhood, enjoying halo halo sold in the local neighborhood, or perhaps Twin Popsies from the roving ice cream man, with that familiar bell that seems to ring at the same time every afternoon.
It's that time of the day when we were asked to take naps in the afternoon so that we grow tall -- well, it didn't work. I would always look forward to our afternoon merienda, prepared with love by mom. And yes, that hammock in the garden where we would lazily hang around, enjoying school-free days, without a care in the world.
